RHS Tatton Flower Show 2017

We were delighted to be welcomed back to display not one but two exhibits at Tatton this year.
We are once again displaying in the Garden Hideaways category. The mancave team have been busy for the last few months building the amazing 'Tatton Tank'. The have transformed a humble 6 X 4 shed into a tank made entirely from recycled pallets. They did have to be remided that its a flower show and maybe some plants would be a good idea! They have built planters that are filled with leafy green plants to depict camouflage. The front of the tank has a Dig In medal in plants kindly grown for us by Brian at Preston City Councils Parks Dept.
Our other exhibit is a depiction of the Sailors and Soldiers free buffet that took place at Preston Railway Station during World War I. This exhibit was a joint effort by Dig In, Lea Community Primary School, Ashton Community Science college and Charnley Fold, a centre for people living with demntia. Together they created willow volunteers, soldiers and sailors. The scene is surrounded by a mixture of plants you might find along railway lines and plants that can be infused to make tea.
RHS Tatton Flower show runs from 19-23rd July. Details can be found here
Or why not come and see our exhibits at Chorley Flower Show on the 29th & 30th July. We would love to see you.
There's always something going on...
We're a pretty busy bunch here at Dig In North West. As a not-for-profit organisation, we're constantly looking to raise the profile of the great things we're involved with - both in and out of the garden.
We use this page to share the latest news on events, our endless pursuit of funding and other exciting tidbits. Keep checking back here for updates. You can keep up with us on Facebook too and Twitter too!
